Vanessa Santullo
Biographie
Vanessa Santullo est née en 1975, elle
vit et travail à Marseille en France. Diplômée de l’Ecole
Nationale Supérieure de la Photographie d’Arles, avec les félicitations
du jury en 2000, Vanessa Santullo travaille essentiellement en vidéo,
photographie et son, utilisant tour à tour ces média pour enquêter
sur la nature des liens qui se tissent entre les individus.
« Vanessa Santullo interroge l’humain, l’étudie,
le traque… isolément ou dans ses rapports avec les autres, zoomant
sur son existence, ses réminiscences ». En considérant
que chaque instant de vie est un univers à partager Vanessa Santullo
utilise la vie quotidienne comme matière première, elle observe
ceux qui l’entourent et puise dans l’intimité des autres
sans chercher un ton intimiste. Ses oeuvres contiennent une charge documentaire
et sociale.
À travers ses narrations personnelles, l’artiste nous propose
de plonger dans un imaginaire, d’être témoin de tranches
de vies, de faits anodins ou parfois d’ évènements plus
marquant.
Chacune de ses réalisations se présente sous différentes
formes d’installations variables en fonction du contenu de la réalisation
: projections simultanées, capture d’images vidéo en tirage
c-print, installations sonores…

Biography
Vanessa Santullo was born in 1975, she lives and works in Marseille in France.
She is graduated from The Arles Photography National Higher School with the
congratulations of the jury in 2000. Vanessa Santullo works mainly on video,
photography and sound. She alternatively uses these media to understand how
people are making bonds.
« Vanessa Santullo questions humanity, studies it, hunts it wheter it
be isolated or relating to other people, zooming in on her own existence and
her memories though her highly personnal narratives. » Consedering that
each moment is a is a universe to be divided, VS uses everyday life as a raw
material while focusing her attention on the behaviours of her fellow men.
Rather than following fashionable and spectacular topics, she favours the
banal and the ordinary moments of everyday life. Everyday life inspires her
but she wouldn’t say that her work is intimist. Her works have a social
content and aim for a rather universal range.
Through her experience, she invites us to an imaginary world, to witness simple
things of life or sometimes important moments in other people's lives.
Each one of her pieces can be presented in various installations according
to the contents
of the realization: simultaneous projections, still film, c-print, sound installations...
