I chose to follow an entrepreneur for five weeks in Guinea ; the principal activity of his company being the construction of roads, bridges and buildings of the country. By exploring the world of work, I wanted to show the relationship between the Guinean people and the Europeans who have come there to work. The film highlights and difficulties of both sides, the taboos, and the unspoken testimony … including the still-visible traces left by colonialism in West Africa.

J’ai choisi de suivre pendant cinq semaines un chef d’entreprise en Guinée dont l’entreprise avait pour activité principale, la construction des ponts et chaussées et des bâtiments d’état du pays. En explorant le monde du travail, je voulais montrer les rapports professionnels entre la population guinéenne et les Européens venus travailler. Le film souligne ainsi les difficultés de part et d’autres, les tabous, et les non dits… Témoignant ainsi des traces, encore perceptibles, laissées par la colonisation dans un pays d’Afrique de l’ouest.
